ADVANCED CLASS
LEVEL 2 RIFLE AR PLATFORM
Course Cost: $150
This 3-hour class is designed for individuals who have a solid foundation in basic rifle handling and are ready to advance their skills. Building on the fundamentals covered in the Level 1 Rifle Course, this class focuses on improving accuracy, speed, and proficiency. Students will learn to handle various rifle malfunctions, perform reloads, timed drills, all within a safe and controlled environment.
1. Review of Rifle Fundamentals
•Brief review of stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control
•Emphasis on consistency in fundamentals for advanced performance
2. Malfunction Clearing Techniques
•Class 1 Malfunctions
•Class 2 Malfunctions
•Class 3 Malfunctions
•Practical exercises to reinforce clearing techniques under time constraints
3. Reloading Techniques
•Tactical Reloads: Reloading while retaining the partially used magazine
•Speed Reloads: Quickly replacing an empty magazine with a full one
•Drills to practice efficient reloads under stress and time pressure
4. Off-Hand Shooting
•Importance of proficiency with the non-dominant side
•Techniques for transitioning to off-hand shooting and reloading
•Drills to build confidence and effectiveness with the non-dominant side
5. Use of Cover and Concealment
•Understanding the use of cover vs. concealment
•Techniques for minimizing exposure while engaging targets from behind cover
•Drills to practice shooting from various positions and angles using cover
•Simulated high-pressure scenarios to test decision-making and shooting accuracy
6. Gear Proficiency
•Ensuring proper use and function of slings, magazines, and other gear
•Adjustments and tips for optimizing gear setup
Students will participate in live fire drills that reinforce the skills taught, with a focus on real-world application. The course includes scenario-based training that challenges students to apply their skills in dynamic environments.
• Rifle: A functional rifle (if you do not own one, rentals may be available)
• Ammunition: Minimum of 150 rounds (quality factory-loaded ammunition recommended)
• Magazines: At least two magazines
• Eye and Ear Protection: safety glasses and hearing protection
• Proper Attire: Closed-toe shoes and clothing suitable for dynamic movement
• Additional Items: Water, notepad, and pen for notes
• Enhanced confidence in handling rifle malfunctions and engaging targets under stress
• Improved accuracy, speed, and tactical proficiency with a rifle
