LEVEL 2 HANDGUN

Building on the fundamentals covered in the Level 1 Handgun Course, this 3-hour intermediate class is designed for those who are comfortable with their handgun and ready to advance their skills. The focus is on improving accuracy, speed, and efficiency through dynamic drills and advanced techniques. Students will learn how to handle various malfunctions, perform reloads, and develop a tactical mindset for real-world scenarios.
1. Review of Handgun Fundamentals
•Quick recap of grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
•Importance of consistency in fundamentals for advanced techniques
2. Malfunction Clearing Techniques
•Class 1 Malfunctions
•Class 2 Malfunctions
•Class 3 Malfunctions
•Practical exercises to reinforce malfunction clearing under stress
3. Reloading Techniques
•Tactical Reloads
•Stress Reloads
•Drills to practice smooth and efficient reloads under pressure
4. Off-Hand Shooting
•Importance of being proficient with the non-dominant hand
•Techniques for one-handed shooting
•Drills to build confidence and skill with the off-hand
5. Use of Cover and Concealment
•Differentiating between cover and concealment
•Engaging targets from behind cover
•Drills to practice using cover effectively while minimizing exposure
6. Stress Drills
•Simulated scenarios to induce stress and test decision-making
•Focus on maintaining composure and accuracy under pressure
•Use of timers and multiple target engagements to simulate real-world conditions
7. Gear Proficiency
•Ensuring proper use and function of holsters, magazines, and other gear
•Adjustments and tips for improving gear setup
The course includes various live fire drills designed to reinforce the skills taught, with an emphasis on real-world application. Students will participate in simulated scenarios that require quick thinking and precise execution.
• Firearm: A functional handgun (if you do not own one, rentals may be available)
• Ammunition: Minimum of 150 rounds (quality factory-loaded ammunition recommended)
• Holster: Quality holster suitable for concealed carry OR Outside the waist band holster (This course has a lot of Holstering)
• Magazines: At least two magazines
• Eye and Ear Protection: safety glasses and hearing protection
• Proper Attire: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing suitable for the range
• Additional Items: Water, notepad, and pen for notes

•Preparation for more advanced defensive handgun courses
